It’s that time of the year again. The annual BBIC series begins on the 12th of November with the Gosford Gallop. Skippers must enter on line by using the link below:
As in the past, there is no need to pay any entry fee for this event. However, in order to process the entry please tick the Pay by Cash option in the forms.
If you have trouble using this form, contact Mark Cole for assistance.
This year the Gosford Gallop will be conducted in Brisbane Waters. All Our Girls races occasionally in GSC inshore events and the crew on board AOG cannot speak highly enough of the GSC race management, standard of racing and hospitality. We are always made to feel very welcome, enjoy the racing and have a great time. The trip back to the Hawkesbury River prior to dusk can also be stunningly beautiful entering Broken Bay.
For those skippers that have not previously negotiated the entrance to Brisbane Waters, please consult your charts for the position of leads. The channel begins close to the shore in the vicinity of Little Box Head. You are advised to negotiate the channel into Brisbane Waters well into a rising tide. Be aware that tidal streams run swiftly around the western end of Half Tide Rocks. Entering the channel on Friday afternoon and staying overnight might be a more attractive option than entering at first light Saturday morning before the tide turns.
BBIC races are on the second Saturday of November, December (Three Island Race), February (Brooklyn Bash) and March (Pittwater Pursuit).
The HRYC awards the BBIC Trophy for the best performing HRYC yacht in the series on Performance Handicap (based on the Final Series Table). Crossbow is the current holder of the trophy (pictured above).
The Notice(s) of Race will be posted in the Racing Document Pages on this site as soon as it becomes available.
